On Forgetting contemplates the historical moment of 50 years since the end of the Vietmam War. It is a collection of artistic and reflective works around the act of forgetting/remembering. 

 

Consisting of essays, poetry, visual essays, criticism, manifestos, photography, and fragmented ruminations, On Forgetting brings together narratives and reflections by artists, writers, academics, curators, and cultural workers of native and diasporic Vietnam. It stands as both an editorial and political gesture to this historical moment.

 

The project frames itself as an excavation of personal and collective memories, opening a space that negotiates between critical views and uncertainties; between state-sanctioned history and lived experience, between inherited trauma and acts of reconciliation.
