HER-STORY
Short dance film, 2020
Set within the layered architecture of two aging Vietnamese buildings, Her-Story traces lives as spirals through space and time. Two women move through corridors, climb staircases, descend into rooms that grow smaller—each passage a chapter, each threshold a turning point.

As the woman moves, so does the story: The story unfolds not in linear progression, but in loops, echoes, and reverberations. Gestures speak of tenderness worn thin, exhaustion carried gracefully, resilience found in the smallest acts. Life reveals itself not in grand declarations, but in the quiet persistence of moving forward.

The work reimagines history not as his-story, but as her-story—told through bodies that remember what words cannot hold.

The muted color palette and minimal soundscape evoke a suspended, interior time. Time moves differently here, suspended and interior. The camera neither intrudes nor directs—it simply stays, bearing witness.
Her-Story becomes an act of devotion: to the unrecorded, the ordinary, the unsung power of gentle resistance and resilience of womanhood.
